Rituals and sacraments are an integral and important part of Hindu way of life. The underlying sentiments and depth of devotion are spiritually significant fostering one’s focus upon Almighty. Abhishekam, snapanam or tirumanjanam is an important ritual where deities are bathed with pure water or other sacred fluids.

Among rites and rituals of Swaminarayan Hinduism, abhishek holds a crucial position. Every year, on the annual anniversary day of mandir inauguration known as Patotsav, deities in the innermost sanctum are bathed with panchamritam (five sacred fluids). His Holiness Bapji consecrated murti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan for abhishek. Here devotees and pilgrims perform abhishek and exhibit their devotion towards Bhagwan Swaminarayan. This ritual is performed by thousands without any kind of discrimination to satisfy their spiritual and material needs.
