Swaminarayan Mandir Vasna Sanstha is an international socio-spiritual organization. It is based upon the omni-beneficial message and spiritual principles laid down by Bhagwan Swaminarayan. SMVS is a part of Swaminarayan Sect in the Hindu Dharma.
The Swaminarayan Sect was founded by Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781-1830). Later Abjibapashri (1845-1928) expounded his spiritual messages. Today the spiritual legacy is continued by the current spiritual successor His Holiness Devnandandasji Swamishri (His Holiness Bapji).
SMVS was initiated by building of a Shikharbaddha Mandir (mandir with spires) in the year 1987 in the Vasna area of Ahmedabad city in the state of Gujarat, India. Today it has presence in all five continents and works on social and spiritual fronts. SMVS mandirs and satsang centers are the center of all its activities. The source of inspiration for all its activities is His Holiness Bapji and by his grace it is dynamic under the spiritual leadership of His Holiness Satyasankalpdasji Swamishri (His Holiness Swamishri).
With more than 50 sadhus (ascetic monks) and 5000 dedicated volunteers, SMVS is working in all forms of human care and spiritual solace without any kind of discrimination.
